Dean A. Woodyatt

I pronounce my surname "Woodyatt" as two words. "Wood" ( rhymes with good ) and "yatt" ( rhymes with watt ). [ Wood-yatt ]
As a child my family and friends pronounced the name with an English accent where "Wood" was pronounced as "Wid" ( rhymes with did ) and "yatt" ( rhymes with hit ) or ( Wid-yit ) . Also, instead of "yit" some in the family said "Wid-git". Friends of the family had one hell of a time trying to find our name in the phone book.
The original meaning of the name was "Woods Gate" so I could have pronounced my name "Wood-yate", but that is not how it's spelled.
On this site, I will attempt to build a family tree listing all who held the surname of "Woodyatt" at birth only. Since I am not political correct, I will list all the ladies by their full maiden name followed by any surname changes in brackets. Where possible, I will provide a link to a website that deals with those surnames. I am sorry but no personal page will be provided for anyone who has not held the surname of  "Woodyatt" at birth within the family tree. It's just too complicated.
However, I will provide some links to personal pages of others in the family of special note or who have helped me in developing this site.
. I plan on having a complete family tree from when my Grandfather "John" immigrated from England to become a citizen of the United States of America, which makes me a 3rd generation "Woodyatt" of the United States.
My grandfather's wife "Elizbeth Joynt [ Woodyatt ]"  family tree can be traced back before the "American Revolution" in the United States. Her family was of Irish decent. Maybe someday I will create a family tree upward to the first generation of when her family immigrated here.
Also, I might even create an upward family tree for my mother's parents, my grandfather "Archer" and grandmother "Sexsauer".
Please send pictures and e-mail me with any corrections that you would like me to make. I might even make them. You might even earn your own personal page.
